Discover the beauty of Colorado through personalized horseback riding experiences with Westcliffe Stables. Our small and intimate group rides, led by experienced and friendly guides, offer a unique and tailored adventure.
With Westcliffe Stables, you can choose from a variety of trails, ranging from serene tours around the Great Sand Dunes National Park to thrilling rides in the National Forest, complete with a mountaintop lunch. We can even combine your horseback ride with fly fishing for a truly unforgettable experience. Our small group sizes ensure a personal and high-quality experience for every rider.
During our rides, you may have the chance to spot deer, elk, pronghorn, birds, coyotes, and other wildlife, as our private trails offer a peaceful and undisturbed environment.
To ensure you have an enjoyable trail riding experience, it's important to be well-prepared for varying weather conditions. Please bring a rain jacket (no ponchos, please) and a water bottle as mountain weather can be quite unpredictable. Rest assured, we'll ride regardless of the weather, be it rain or shine.
For the safety and comfort of our riders, please note that we have age and weight restrictions. Riders must be at least 7 years old and should weigh under 250 lbs.
We highly recommend making your trail ride reservations in advance, as our slots tend to fill up fast. This is especially crucial for larger groups, as it can be challenging to accommodate last-minute bookings. Therefore, it's best to plan ahead and secure your reservations with us but, we do accept walk-in rides when available.
While our standard trips are typically half-day or full-day trail rides, we are more than happy to customize an experience tailored to your preferences. Whether it's adding a stop for fishing or designing a different style trip package, we aim to create the perfect trail riding experience for you.
